The 4 candidates

The four candidates are scheduled for interviews this week, which is a little faster than I said in my last post.

They are, in alphabetical order:
  • Matthew Clay
  • Kathy Kral
  • Mike Russell
  • Doug Turner
The VPs have drawn up a list of questions to ask each candidate. After the interviews, they'll make their recommendation to Dr. Sethna, who will make the appointment.

There is not much to say at this point. It appears this process is going to be painfully slow.

Merry Christmas everyone!

So slow everybody has been beaten into submission it seems like ... life goes on.

It makes the "We're on the clock, not the calendar" slogan ring a bit hollow.

Dear Colleagues,

I am delighted to inform you that Kathy Kral will be the Interim CIO, starting January 1, 2008. I am sure you join me in wishing her well for the task ahead. While the basic organizational structures for campus technology have been developed (including the interim CIO position to which Kathy was appointed), work still remains to implement that basic framework. The search committee and I have great confidence in Kathy's ability to succeed, and the campus' support for her efforts.

My thanks to all those who applied for the position; there was an excellent pool of candidates for the position and they will all play an important role in the future of technology at the University of West Georgia. My thanks also to the Search Committee who did a very thorough job of the process. Finally, major thanks to Dr. Will Lloyd who served with distinction as CTO for almost two years and developed a plan that will help address the concerns of the IT Audit. Will chose not to be a candidate for this position, but I place on record thanks for what he did for UWG in 2006 and 2007.

Sincerely,

Beheruz
